Nicholas Hoult Appointed as New Ambassador for Save the Children
According to Ehsas.News, Nicholas Hoult, the renowned British actor and long-time supporter of Save the Children, was recently appointed as the latest ambassador for the charity during a surprise appearance at a play and creativity workshop in London. This event took place just a day after his attendance at a fan event for his latest film, “Superman.”
Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor in the new Superman film, visited the “Rich Mix” center in East London to meet with local children aged 7 to 11 who were participating in a multimedia film workshop about the meaning of being a hero. He actively participated in the workshop, which involved scriptwriting, filming, and acting in scenarios as heroes and villains, and also took part in a Q&A session with the students.
The children, having watched a segment of the new Superman film prior to Hoult’s arrival, immediately asked “Lex” for autographs and requested to have a video call with his co-star, “Superman.” These young artists, after discussing aspects of film production and the wonders of special effects, asked Hoult about his childhood and what inspired him to become an actor.
Regarding his visit, Hoult stated, “Meeting the children here at Rich Mix on my first day as an official ambassador for Save the Children was a true privilege. Seeing their joy from participating in the workshop reminded me of how much I loved getting involved in cinema from a young age. Their enthusiasm is evident, and meeting this next generation of creatives from all walks of life was incredibly inspiring. They are undoubtedly on the right path to realizing their dreams.”
The Rich Mix center, located in Shoreditch, is a community-focused arts venue that offers free after-school clubs and collaborates with Save the Children’s “Power of Play” project, which supports children’s learning through creative play.
As child poverty in the UK has reached a staggering 4.5 million, with one in three children living in poverty, statistics show that in the Tower Hamlets area alone, 32,775 children are living in poverty, which equates to 47% of the children in that area—the highest rate among all regions in London.
Mabel McKinnon, Head of Business Partnerships at Save the Children, stated, “We are extremely happy to welcome Nicholas as our newest ambassador and appreciate his unwavering support over the years. Seeing the children’s excitement at meeting him at Rich Mix and hearing about his journey in the film industry, which is a subject they all love, was fantastic. We believe every child in the UK should have the opportunity to realize their dreams, regardless of the circumstances they were born into.”
In conclusion, Nicholas Hoult joins a roster of official ambassadors for Save the Children, including Ashley Jensen, Dominic Joli, Julie Richardson, Misan Harriman, Sir Mo Farah, Myleene Klass, Poppy Delevingne, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. These ambassadors help promote the charity’s message and goals through project visits, campaign promotion, and ongoing efforts. His collaboration alongside other ambassadors will aid in raising awareness and supporting children’s rights, contributing to improving their living conditions in the UK and around the world.
