Joely Richardson Visits Shared Gardens in Margate

According to Ehsas.News, Acclaimed actress and Save the Children ambassador, Joely Richardson, recently visited a community shared garden project in Margate. This initiative, supported by the renowned charity Save the Children in collaboration with Bulgari, aims to improve the mental well-being and development of children in the community.

Managed by a local group, the project provides opportunities for children to connect with their environment through growing produce, playing, and spending time in nature. Joely Richardson, who has a passion for gardening, praised the positive impact this project has on the lives of children and their families.

She stated, “Getting your hands dirty and being outdoors is incredibly important. This amazing group in Margate fosters children’s early learning and supports their mental well-being—all in an outdoor setting.”

The project is located in one of the most resource-deprived areas of Southeast England. According to recent statistics, nearly 35% of children in this area are affected by poverty. Child poverty in the UK has reached a concerning level, highlighting the urgent need for action.

Met, a parent who met Joely, identified participation in this project as a key factor in building connections with other parents and creating a stronger community. He remarked, “This project provides an opportunity for children to get outside and experience new lives.”

Hannah, the project manager of the shared garden, added, “With the funding from Save the Children, we have been able to run this project for three years, creating a safe space for children and parents to relax and feel supported.”

The partnership between Save the Children and Bulgari aims to drive positive change for children, with financial support for these projects coming through the sale of exclusive Bulgari jewelry. Freya Nowell, leader of early learning community for Save the Children, emphasized that such charitable partnerships are vital for improving children’s conditions.

The shared garden project not only helps raise children’s awareness about the environment and healthy eating but also provides a unique and supportive space for parents. It demonstrates how collaboration and support can lead to positive and sustainable changes within communities.
